Decriminalizing Medical Marijuana In The NFL

The story of former nfl wide receiver J.D. Hill and his downward spiral of addiction to painkillers after having received hundreds,upon thousands of painkillers from trainers, his addiction led him to the streets to purchase his painkillers to get his fix and leave the league entirely. J.D. became homeless due to his addiction that no one thought would happen, J.D. spent 15 years in and out of drug treatment centers after 20 long years J.D. overcame his NFl allowed addiction. Medical Marijuana in the NFL shouldn’t have to be an issue the league each year continues to hurt itself by putting stricter and stricter punishment on marijuana offenders. The NFL needs to start decriminalizing marijuana offenders because they are only hurting themselves by harshly punishing players who have been using it for medical use. Medical Marijuana should be legalized because painkillers normally used to kill people everyday, over half of retired NFL players have abused painkillers, and many former players are rallying for change to the strict policy. Medical Marijuana needs to be allowed in the NFL, in this day in age more and more athletes are being prescribed to hundreds of hundreds painkillers that can lead to a lifelong downward spiral into addiction and turmoil resulting in lives lost and various months in a treatment facilities. For a majority of the athletes in the league marijuana is a therapeutic coping method, but it
