Compare and contrast UCLA and Intermountain Medical Center’s outcomes. Why do you think there are such significant differences in outcomes and expenditures? • Both UCLA and intermountain medical centers, I believe, have a goal to improve the health care system and the outcomes for patients. The UCLA medical system was struggling to match the outcomes that were being seen at the intermountain Medical Center despite the expenditures. I found it interesting the difference in what procedures are being performed and at what rate.…

A good health care system is considered to be foundational for any developed country and citizens often look into how their country is faring compared to others. Any difference in the care the citizen believes they should receive and what they actually receive and there tends to be animosity towards the government. In order to avoid this, the government must look into how they are staffing each floor to maximize the machines use, while also being mindful of the costs the MRI poses. Another major political impact that MRI machines pose to the government is the resources required to build them. MRI machines require a wide range of resources, such as niobium, which cannot always be found in large enough quantities in Canada to build the machine.…

Products are advertised to seem completely useful and real so advertisers can trick many of the consumers into purchasing the material and it is accomplished by hiring phony professionals and actors to tell emotional and dramatic anecdotes and stating supposedly all of the MagnaSoles shining qualities. Advertisers can make the products appear scientifically approved by giving out false information on the items this makes the advertisers seem well-informed and professional. In the article released from the Onion the author mocks advertisers by creating an unrealistic scientist to say intelligent facts about the MagnaSoles. The author states, “ It harnesses the power of magnetism to properly align the bio-magnetic field around your foot,” (6).…

Out of all the websites that I have reviewed, the most interesting one was the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Website to compare the hospitals in your home area. It shows how each hospital does on treating several different diseases and shows what the national average is in our country. I found this extremely helpful because it helped confirm some of my beliefs in the Oakwood system, but also showed the misconceptions of the Oakwood system. I had always known that they had an issue with giving patients infections, but I did not realize it was not as bad as I had originally thought. Once more, the website helped to inform me that my hospital does not do well with stroke victims, but Garden City is one of the best in the state.…
