The Pros And Cons Of Legalized Immigrant Workers

Only in construction jobs (15% vs. 12%) and farming jobs ( 26% vs. 20%) do unauthorized immigrant workers outnumber lawful immigrant workers according to the PEW research center. Illegal immigrants only hold 5% of overall US jobs with the majority being blue collar labor or service jobs. Therefore I don’t believe that there is a legitimate argument to be made that illegal and illegal immigrants are taking jobs, especially well paid jobs from US born citizens. The majority of work taken by illegal and illegal immigrants is hard labor, dirty jobs and services that most people, not just in America, but around the world, would prefer not to do. Our country is focused on education, technology and an easier way to do things. According to NPR, the average percent of high school graduation in America is 83%, while many will go to community colleges and 4 year universities in search of high paying white collar jobs. Regardless of legal or illegal immigrants the type of jobs they do complement the type of jobs that the average American is searching for. People that come from different places around the world, specifically 3rd world countries, are more willing to do any type of work in order to make a living and provide a better situation for their family. I can see it in my family and friends that everyone is striving to get good careers and no one is talking about farming, construction and labor intensive jobs. According to KFG.org, in all states there are more blue collar workers than white collar workers. Blue collar jobs will always be around, but the way our society is educating, no one will want to do
