The Pros And Cons Of Laveyan Satanism

Improved Essays
As human beings, we are prone to fear what we do not understand. When someone tells us something terrifying, we tend to stay away from it rather than research what it really is. Although this can seem like a good idea, it prohibits us from learning and getting the full scoop of information. This idea is shown through Laveyan Satanism. When people think of satanists, typically they think of these horrifying people who come out at night dressed in all black causing mayhem or destruction to all things innocent wandering around. Unless you actually research Laveyan Satanism, there are simply too many movies destructing their image for us to ever think of them as decent people. If no one took the time to research what Laveyan Satanism really was, …show more content…
Fun fact, Laveyan Satanism has no god; it’s more of a way of life. Laveyan Satanism stands for self indulgence, you do whatever pleases you without harming others who have done no harm to you. Satan is present in this religion only as a face or image to represent its followers as a whole, but he is not praised. Buddhism is the same way with this aspect; buddhists have no god. Buddha is simply a face for their religion, he is important, but not worshiped. Buddhism is all about finding peace within yourself and ending your suffering for an all around better life. These religions are focused on its followers and helping them find themselves rather than worshiping an almighty higher …show more content…
This is probably one of the biggest fear factors that come into play with satanism, however, it isn’t true. Satanic rituals are not offerings to demons, often times they are not curses set on people, they are actually equivalent to meditation. The church of satan describes it as a “self transformational psychodrama” which is meant to relieve a person from their emotional baggage that could affect them negatively or get in their way of a happy life. Buddhist meditation is used the same way, to clear the mind of anything bothersome, changing them for the better and helping them reach a higher power of mind. Overall, Laveyan Satanism is about treating people how you want to be treated and becoming one with yourself. Media and any radical or ignorant follower of a religion can change how the world views that religion; this is why it is important to research what you have been told. A person can spend years in fear of what they heard, or they can find that it isn't as scary as it seems. If you aren’t scared to see or interact with a buddhist, then you shouldn't fear a satanist, or rather, a laveyan satanist because their overall ground is equal to each
