The Pros And Cons Of Interest Groups

First of all, Interest groups are organizations of people who all share a fascination and interest in one specific thing or topic. Interest groups can be very diverse. They vary in size and aims. They work together to promote and protect their interest by influencing the government. Special interest groups are representatives that benefit directly from the result of a project/bill. Special interest groups hire people called “lobbyists”. Lobbyists are the ones who promote. Not all “promoting” is ethical. Bribery and public relations are used. Also, “donations” are made, which are, most of the time, very expensive and irrelevant items/things. ”Interest groups do not necessarily influence the Judiciary, but they very heavily influence Congressmen. A congressman's number one goal in their political career is to get reelected while an interest groups number one goal is to get what they want enacted into law. Therefore, interest groups lobby Congressional Committees in order to get what they want to be accomplished.
