According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an immigrant is, “a person who comes to a country to take up permanent residence.” Each year, hundreds of thousands of immigrants, legal and illegal, from around the world, come into America. These immigrants have various drives pushing them towards “The Land of the Free.” Some come to the U.S. in hopes of getting a shot at a better life, others are refugees dodging persecution in their home country. Many of these people believe that the United States is the ideal place to go. Here, there is more freedom, benefits, and protection; which are meaningful issues to foreigners.
