Identifying Islamic Ideas

Kirschbaum “In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful,” (The Quran, al-Fatihah 1.1) this is how every chapter in the Quran begins, similar to many other religions which shows their submissiveness to an all mighty power named God. While Islam is an Abrahamic tradition and shows many similarities to other monotheistic religions it has a unique way of teaching the message of God and it can be seen as the most inclusive. Although Christianity, Judaism and Islam all have their differences they all do still believe in the same God, so what makes one better than the other? Ideally, Islam is a melting pot of the Abrahamic traditions because it accepts a link of itself to earlier Abrahamic traditions, it does not denounce earlier Abrahamic traditions and it gives authority to a single monotheistic God. This can be seen when the Quran says, “Those who believe, and the Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians—whoever believes in God and the Last Day, and does what is right—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve,” (al-Ma’idah 5.69) which shows that while they might have contrary beliefs to Islam if they follow what God has revealed to them then they have nothing to
