There are many dangers about human genetic engineering; the outcomes of human genetic engineering are too irregular and dangerous for humans to use. Although some would classify human genetic engineering as a ghastly creation, there are many positive outcomes of engineering, like preventing people from ever getting the HIV virus. Since it is inevitable, now is the time humans should cease this opportunity and turn it into something that will forever change the human race for the better. Human modification would change the world by creating smarter, more efficient humans. HGE can improve IQ and increase brain function, making a smarter race that would figure out issues average humans cannot seem to figure out. Stephen Hawking proclaims that HGE would be “required so that human intelligence will always be greater than artificial intelligence” (Highfield). Humans are starting to fall behind artificial intelligence, AI, so in order to ensure the safety of future humans, humans must always be 5 steps ahead of AI and HGE would help evolve the human race. Not only would HGE save the human race from an AI apocalypse, it would increase the complexity of the human DNA.
