Some states such as Connecticut and California have laws that require there to be a harassment training program for managerial employees. Going the extra step further, is that even companies have also trained all employees managerial and nonmanagerial employees be educated on the matter.This training equips the employees with how to identify, handle and prevent any future harassment, as well as totally avoiding harassment (1). How do you identify harassment in the workplace? Take a step back and analyze. Who scoffs at co-workers ideas or suggestions? Who is always bad mouthing co-workers new methods without the full story or understanding (forbes). This person is you’re harasser, they are the bully of the workplace. They are intimidating, and shockingly embarrassing that you cannot believe what they just said, nieve and judgemental. Are you tolerating this bully just to avoid conflict? Step two is to put an end to the enabling the bully. This means speak up take control of the situation. Step three is to set up a new system with healthy boundaries and behavior. With setting these new boundaries will let this bully know where to stop with a “joke” and provide a better workplace for you and them. Also coming up with a new system lets the bully know where there was conflict, sometime the harasser doesn’t know they have done anything
