Although gymnastics isn't considered a race, young elite gymnasts themselves are definitely in one. They're in a race with their own growing bodies and with all aspects of the sport that they dream of conquering to bring home Olympic gold before they expire. The physical and mental deterioration from the pressures of winning are brought on through intense training tactics implemented by coaches, their own parents, and even the governing body of gymnastics worldwide. The International Gymnastics Federation, bored with the classic "perfect 10" scoring system, equipped their regulations in 2006 with a new rule imposing an open ended scoring system in favor of difficulty over artistry, now requiring the gymnasts to fire the most dangerous combination

    As spoken about earlier, we have decided to racially prime the white identity in Black-White Biracial individuals because this is the identity that does not dominate track and has historically been given a negatively prescribed stereotype. For this study we used 105 Middle school aged males that are Black-White biracial and participated in Track. The study took place over the span of two days and was housed in an indoor track.
