In 2016 there were 38,000 gun related deaths in the U.S. 4,000 more than 2015” does this make you scared? On February 24th of 2018 Stoneman Douglas High School was a part of a mass shooting where 17 students were killed by Nikolas Cruz who’s gun of choice was a semi-automatic rifle. We are talking about semi-automatic rifles and guns in general because this is how innocent people are getting killed. People who don’t want the semi-automatic rifles to get banned argue that they are a small percentage of all of the deaths by guns in the U.S. but the people that argue that they should be banned are saying that they do play a big part in the mass shootings that occur. These type of issues put military style weapons back on the spotlight and give more attention then what it had before. My topic is proved because more and more people are doing this because they see more schools getting shot up. Putting an action to this right now instead of more and more people and families are going to get affected by this and this is gonna start a way of more people trying to get their hands on one of these weapons.
