Guns are not the ones killing people, but people are killing people. A car for example, does not drive around crashing into and killing people on it’s own, but a human has to control it and drive. Does this mean that cars should be illegal? No, they are very useful for transportation, recreation, work, and sporting. The same is true for guns. As a matter of fact, guns killed less Americans in accidental shootings and murders than cars. As quoted from Learn About Guns, “About 50,000 Americans are killed in car collisions each year, compared to the roughly 10,000 people murdered or shot by “accident” – making cars 5 times more likely to cause death.” This is a real wake up call for those advocating against guns, going on a rampage in your car would be as simple as pushing on the accelerator and killing innocent …show more content…
When you let the criminals have the weapons capable of killing, but disarm your citizens and take away their constitutional rights you leave a vulnerable gap where criminals and psychos are free to kill. Some argue that guns are dangerous and only used for murders. Just recently in Paris, a place where owning any gun is nearly impossible, seven attackers killed at least 129 people in the course of a day. In addition Kenya, four terrorists killed, then blew themselves up, according to NBC, “at least 147 other people dead, authorities said.” The gun control in those places did nothing to protect the people, but this could have easily been stopped if the students or teachers were armed. Maybe then the head count of those dead would be four, not 147. If nobody owns a gun, how is a threat with a gun going to be stopped? Some love and good feelings? I do not think so. In short, guns can be deadly, but are necessary protection from terrorists and those who feel the need to kill
