We know that people want gun control, but what else must we understand in order to minimize or eliminate school shootings? In 2018, the U.S is facing a very big problem that it has yet to find an adequate solution. Corresponding to the recent Parkland High School shooting, many people have gone to call for a stricter gun policy. We have two sides arguing for and against gun reform but what if there are more solutions? It is important to look for solutions outside of gun control because that debate for and against gun control has gone nowhere. We need more creative options to solve our issue. This method is known as Local Networks. According to the book, many of the shootings before they occurred had a lot of common things observed(Böckler, Nils 372). For example, “There was no professional to monitor and care for the individual who posed a possible threat to themselves or others” (Böckler, Nils, 372). We keep seeing a lack of hep and all the systems we have discussed so far fix that. The book describes Local Networks as, “All the professionals from different backgrounds working together on a case have a common language to share and bring together their specialist expertise”(Böckler, Nils 372). The Local Networks works under the System Safer as a team to further push stopping threats. All these systems compliment each other and would have positive impacts on our schools. As you can see, there is plenty of systems that won’t affect the whole population but instead focus on individuals and find them help in some for or way. This focus on a smaller population could help with a more satisfied overall population which is important to stopping the gun debate cycle. It helps eliminate that debate and still find a
