In contrast, other sports that might give you the same exercise take less time to play and are also easier to play. A basketball game might take a quick thirty minutes. A soccer match would take the same time. And these two are easier to play with the only necessities being a ball and hoop or net, which are both easily accessible at a local park. Why would a kid make the extra effort to travel to a golf course, go through the checklist of everything he needs to do before he gets to hit a ball, and then spend an insufferable amount of time trying to keep up with trivial rules? The kid would rather shoot hoops. Adding onto this point, golf is truly expensive. It is not an affordable game for everyone that wants to play and people that believe otherwise are either unaware of others, or completely misled by costs.
