At the end of the day is up to the consumer to make the best choice for themselves and family, either based on budget or not. Genetically modified organisms’ usage benefits farmers and corporations that sell products containing GMO’s, because the investment is much lower, and the monetary gains are enormous in a much shorter time. It also benefits consumers when it comes to saving time and money, since genetically modified food is much cheaper and is mostly carried by any market. There is no need to go to different stores and get different products; for example, going to a farmer’s market to get organically grown or the freshest fruits and vegetables and then go to a grocery store to buy packaged food and other household supplies. Consumers tend to just go to a “all in one place store.” But there are other benefits and issues. There are many people in the world that suffer from hunger or are malnourished, although genetically modified food claims it provides nutrients, there is research that suggest this are empty nutrients. The world is over populated and growing crops or making food fast enough to feed everyone is almost impossible now a day as a result of GMO’s. Stopping the use of such organisms, it’s almost impossible, because the soil is already contaminated with this process, production would slow down, causing people to starve, and human behavior could get out of control and could increase in crime, this is not a scientific fact, this is a normal process of human behavior when trying to survive. Maybe there is hope. If each individual started doing its part, of changing the way food is consumed or the way we obtain food, it could make a difference; maybe not right away, but one step at a time. Planting our own tomatoes, celery, lettuce, potatoes, or any other vegetable that easily grows could be the start of a change. It’s not
