The Pros And Cons Of Fracking

What do most homes, factories, and business buildings have in common? They all typically run on electricity and not one of these places can go without it. Many people are unaware of certain necessary methods that are used to derive these power sources from the earth. There are numerous ways of generating electricity, and more recently fossil fuels such as natural gas have played a major part in producing electricity. However; the most efficient way to harness this natural fuel is through a process called hydraulic fracturing or fracking. Fracking is the process in which sand, water, and chemicals are injected at high pressures to blast open rock and release the trapped natural gasses inside. As of late a new controversy has been born because of claims that fracking is a dangerous and unnecessary means of obtaining fossil fuel. However; abolishing fracking in our country is impractical because of the money it costs to import natural gases and the fact that natural gases are a key component in keeping the energy surging in our lives, home, and nation.

It is true that fracking has posed some uncertainties and dangers to the surrounding communities however this is because certain companies do not follow “regulations” and safe practices. This is not the case for every company that practices fracking and as of late fracking has been highly regulated to ensure procedures have been followed accordingly in order to maintain the safety of surrounding communities
