Social medias and recent technologies like Facebook, Instagram, smartphones and Skype are typically known as one of the most important innovations during the 21st century. Although fracking is a very important innovation, it is not as commonly known topic in daily life. To simply describe the definition of fracking, it is a dangerous process of extracting natural gas from shale rock layers, deep within the earth. Involving 3 main groups into the topic, this extraction is harmful to both the environment and us, the humans. By understanding the industry, the public and the government’s relation to fracking, it helps understand why people are involved in this controversial. Extracting natural gas to meet the energy demand is the industry’s first goal. These industries include lobbyists, companies and technical experts. On the other hand, many publics are not willing to sacrifice the quality of the natural resources to meet the industry’s demand. The public involves non-governmental organization (NGOs), scholarly institutions and community action groups. In addition, the main role of the government is to develop effective legislation to protect the public sector’s needs. They are as well concerned about developing legislation that manages the natural resources. They want to promote the economy and find energy independence for the country.
