Firearms vs without firearms We can protect ourselves better with guns so much better than any other weapons, but we must know how to use them properly and correctly or it would hurt us instead of protecting us. Firearms can protect us so much better if we compare them with knives, nun chucks, machetes and spears. It takes about approximately three seconds for us to get the handgun out to fire if anything bad is going to happen. Most of us do not have the same concept about guns, and a lot of people do not like to use guns as a protection for themselves. Although we can protect ourselves by using knives, martial arts, and other kind of weapons, but it does not seem to be that effective against gun users. Our life is in danger when we have to be in that situation. It takes longer distance, the risk of our life, we have to find a spot to cover ourselves, however running away from a gun user will not be that easy. On the other hand, it will be so much harder to protect ourselves without a gun. A lot of people do not like firearms because they do not want to hurt other people or they are afraid of the guns might go off on its own. They do not enjoy having a gun that much like other people, because every one of us has a different kind of interest. Unlike gun users, other people like to do other things instead of going to the range or shoot some guns. Some people do not like gun because they do not like how heavy it is or how they have to clean it after they use it. It takes a lot of time to clean every part of a gun after we use it and it is really frustrating to most people. Ammo also costs a lot and a lot of us cannot afford to buy them. My house got broke in once and the police took thirty minutes to come after I called them. I cannot always depend on them. As I stood there during that moment hopelessly watching the robber took our money that my family worked so hard for and we had to give up things they want for them to leave my family alone. I wish I

    Essay On Mass Shooting

Following recent events (involving multiple mass shootings and attacks) many people think that the laws on guns in the United States of America need to be much tighter. I am one of these people. At the moment, as soon as you cross the US border, you have the legal right to purchase yourself a fire arm for personal protection, sport and (apparently, in some unfortunate cases) carrying out an unreasoned mass shooting. This document serves to explain some of the holes in the American legal system. While my foremost problem is not with guns themselves, it is a fact that they are, in the first place, an inherent danger and owning them, in the first instance, causes more trouble than they’re worth.…

The 2nd Amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. Many Americans believe in and benefit from this right, however, the freedom to bear arms at times may come with significant and sometimes deadly consequences. The right to bear arms is a relatively easy process. Americans are victims to innocent deaths such as murders and accidental shootings due to the ease at which one can own a gun.…

Gun Control is Not the Solution Increased Gun Control in the United States is absurd, useless, and unnecessary. In order to increase safety all throughout the United States time and effort must not be spent towards limiting gun owners of their rights. The tragic rash of school, religious, and workplace shootings has turned up the heat on the public conversation about guns. In nearly all of these cases gun laws would not have stopped the shooters from obtaining a firearm.…

The first point brought about by Katie McGinty states that in the last year alone 14,000 people were killed by guns in the United States, which roughly estimates to about 38 deaths committed by firearms daily. One can argue that this death tole number could be significantly smaller if these individuals had a weapon of their own that could be used for self-defense against these attacker. Although weapons such as pistols, rifles, assault rifles and shotguns are deadly, they also have many benefits such as self-defense, which can deter an attacker by simply revealing the weapon. In todays society there…

We use guns for self defense and all the indicators point towards having guns help us rather than harm us, but we make conclusions like that before we can rule out that guns make us violent. If we are faced with similar circumstances in our future where we are faced with a situation. We are in conflict with an armed individual how do we increase our chance to get killed. If anything we increase or chances of survival because like I said we once again feel that sense of safety when there are guns or local authority figures are around. We have to look at it in this perspective and this maybe my conservative ideals coming out, but if we outlaw the use of guns the majority of Americans will follow the law.…

There has been a debate on what to do about the problem of gun violence here in the U.S. The second amendment of the Bill of Rights states that “ a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This statement is interpreted many different ways depending on the person. I think the second amendment states that you have rights to own a firearm, but to protect yourself and your property. It is unconstitutional to take their right to own a gun away, but it is constitutional to change the laws to protect other people.…

Gun Control in America has become a topic of debate lately by questioning our use of the second amendment and how we use it. Firearms can be used to cause mass homicide in schools (ProCon.org), or guns can also prevent burglary and theft in a gun owner’s home (Safewise.com). In short, guns are predominantly more beneficial to have than not to have (even with the chance of the owner misusing the firearm) because of the assurance and security it brings to the average gun owner. First off, gun control has distinct negative outcomes that sway the minds of people to not support more gun control. In a poll of roughly 21 million people, 54% said no to increased gun control in the poll above; this shows that more than 8% of people do not want any more gun control (isidewith.com) .…

There is no longer a need to protect ourselves by using guns. We have strong police forces and other protections to shelter Americans in this century. The only other reasons one would want to obtain a gun is for protection because of the fear of another having a gun or to cause harm on purpose to others. It’s a cycle and if we halted it, the craving of wanting a gun in the home would surely decrease. Allowing guns to be open to the general public isn’t reassuring, it makes some nervous.…

Guns: Creating Violence In this day and age, there is absolutely no reason for the common man to own a firearm. We are in the 21st century folks, 200 years ago firearms were vital to the survival of humans as protection and a means of food, in some countries they are still needed but not in America. The fear of guns and people who carry them isn’t fair to anyone, I think people should try to understand how guns work and why people have them, for every person and gun is different, and educating people about both will likely make them less afraid. In my experience guns are not easy to use or to get; you need to go through safety courses, pass background tests, learn how to load, hold it, and aim. The people I know who have guns aren’t trigger happy men at all, they were educated and skilled men and women who saw guns as a means of protection, providing for their family, or a form of art. Gun ownership doesn’t make one violent at all--as many seem to assume-- a gun is simply a tool and has no moral influence on others. In fact, arming civilians gives them a chance to defend themselves and even stop a potential shooter than means to do harm: meaning criminals are less likely to fire upon a room full of people if they know one or more are potential gun…
