The Pros And Cons Of Eradicating The Pig Population

I agree that eradicating the pig population was necessary in order to move the eagles to a new environment. Early 19th century nonnative ranchers brought pigs to the Santa Cruz Island. These pigs became feral, lacerating the island looking for food, breeding rapidly, and consistently having the urge to consume food. Due to their insignificance, upkeeps valued the island fox’s welfare more than the untamed pigs. Conservations turned the fox’s habitat into a gruesome war zone by using snipers and helicopters to help eliminate the common pig population. With the pigs still on the island, the golden eagles would be tempted to come back. Although I agree with removing the pigs, I think the Nature Conservancy could have used a more human method,
