As a parent we always want to check on our kids from time to time, whether this means looking at their text messages, or even taking a peek at the social media pages. Image logging into your Facebook page, to look at your sixteen year old daughter’s timeline, everything seems to be normal, as you stroll down you see she has posted a selfie, and she has only one comment, that is from her gym teacher Mr. Williams and it says “This is sexy”. Your heart starts pounding and you can image the thoughts going through your head, the next day you bring this to the attention of the school principal, and he too agrees that this is inappropriate and assures you that he will handle this. Within a few days you are notified, that Mr. Williams has been fired …show more content…
On most job applications the last page commonly called the “Certification” page the applicate only reads the first two or three sentences that reads as follows: “I certify that the information provided on this application is truthful and accurate. I understand that providing false or misleading information will be the basis for rejection of my application, or if employment commences, immediate termination.” Once the applicate reads this they in most cases go straight to the bottom of the page to provide their signature and either click submit or hand it to the manager. For those who do not completely read this portion of the application it may come to your surprise that you are signing an agreement to work as an “At Will’ employee. If the applicate read the entire agreement they would have also read, “If an employment relationship is created, I understand that unless I am offered a specific written contract of employment signed on behalf of the organization by its Manager, the employment relationship will be “at-will.” In other words, the relationship will be entirely voluntary in nature, and either I or my employer will be able to terminate the employment at any time and without cause.” What exactly does “At Will” employment mean, this is a legal presumption in most US states, where either the employer or employee can with no legal
