This characteristic or quality consists of an upfront attitude. Trump is not one to back down from another person, and he has certainly shown this in Republican debates. Evelyn McKenzie, a reporter for CBS Miami News, writes “I think he’s very up front, he’s very politically incorrect in many of the things he says, but at least he’s honest and that’s what people want” (Scouten). Americans are looking for a leader who makes his own decisions without having to rely on Congress for assistance. The Pros of a Donald Trump Presidency American politics have always fascinated me. Where else can you find a medium that discusses some of the world's most pressing issues, while at the same time giving you an opportunity to analyze American behavior as it unfolds upon a political system that has influenced many other countries, including the Dominican Republic. But let’s be honest, politics can also be very dull, with its insipid candidates, anticlimactic voting system, and laws worded in such a way that would confuse even Joyce. Thank god for Donald Trump!…

Donald Trump was an unexpected runner for this year’s presidential election. At first, many people thought his running for the presidency was a joke. Unfortunately, as time went on, what many thought to be a joke suddenly became more serious as more and more people began to show him support and he shows no sign of dropping out anytime soon. Which is unfortunate since much of what he says is far from being presidential, let alone professional. From what I’ve seen of his speeches and debates, he often makes terrible statements about other candidates as well as other groups of people, building off of peoples hate to rally more support.…

A democracy is a government that is ruled by the people. This means that we as people choose our own presidents, mayors, senators, and other people of power. A democracy is different from other forms of government because it is actually “ran” by the people. Its main purpose is to not be a monarchy which is a government that is led by a monarch like a queen or king, where the power stays in the family. The Electoral College was founded in 1787 by our founding fathers, It was established to make sure that our government doesn't turn into a monarchy.…

In a recent presidential debate, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton argued their character, and if they are fit to serve as president of the United States or not. Throughout their debate they depended on both rhetorical fallacies and strategies to build their arguments and prove their capability to run this country. Although the arguments made by the candidates seem to be just repetitive nuances of common issues, this debate gives us an idea of the duties and character traits a president must obtain. From start to finish, the candidates in this debate use rhetorical strategies to make their arguments stand out.…

The most interesting detail I learned from the books is that a candidate being able to connect with voters is one of the most important things a candidate must do to win the presidency. It can be seen in the 1992 election as Clinton was able to connect with people and make them believe that change was possible. Bush in this election was unable to connect and so even though he was president when the Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union fell, he was unable to win the presidency. I believe this connects quite perfectly with the current election. Donald Trump was able to maybe not necessarily connect with voters, but he able to connect more than Hillary Clinton was able to.…

As the 2016 election approaches, the presidential candidates and citizens await the decision of who will be the next leader of the United States of America. Donald Trump, a republican candidate, should not be elected president due to his immigration policy. After reading the book Just Like Us, by Helen Thorpe, Donald Trump is surely the wrong candidate. The immigration policy of Donald trump, is not a feasible and realistic policy. The policy will not move our nation forward in the quest to repair an increasingly conflict-ridden immigration system because his policy is racist, he plans to deport millions of people, and it is simply unrealistic.…

When people began judging president Trump for the idea of a ban on Muslims entering the United States, he quoted as a relevant historical event, World War II and the proclamations issued by then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt empowering the authorities to send away Japanese, German and Italian immigrants. In 1942, Roosevelt delivered an executive order that sent Japanese-Americans, many of them families that had been settled in the United States for generations, they were sent to so-called internment camps established along the West Coast. Trump described Roosevelt's policies as "far worse," but history experts have suggested the former president's wartime decisions weren't a good example for Trump to use at all. While Americans initially…

Some issues he needs to solve in the country to bring unity are the health care plans, rights to have an abortion, and how to properly spend the country’s money and budget. By repealing Obamacare, Trump is removing the stability that people had relied on for the past couple years. Trump does not have the right to decide for women, whether they can receive an abortion or not, because he won’t be the one carrying a human being in his stomach for 9 months. As for properly spending the country’s money, Trump wants to build a pricey wall to secure the borders, because the fence is not enough. Eventually, the wall will be ruined and he’ll have to spend more of the country’s budget to maintain…

On January 20, 2017, those who deemed Trump's ideas absurd, were filled with concern. Two headlines drove Trump’s campaign: Immigration and Terrorism. So far, in his first one hundred days in office, he has been actively keeping his word by signing executive orders and revealing future policy for his promises. Whether he has the power to follow through with his claims is questioned by many. With Congress consisting of mostly Republicans, and all of his cabinet nominees similar in mindset to him, Donald J Trump faces an either easy four years in office, or a challenging four years without a say in what happens to America.…
