Music shouldn’t be censored anywhere, whether it’s at a birthday party or at a club. Why? Because people are capable of choosing whether they want to listen to it or not. It’s something that we call freedom, which goes along with our first amendment. The Bill of Rights states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” Music artists shouldn’t have to be concerned about their music being censored because they’re just trying to make a living off of people’s enjoyment of their music. But with that being said, everyone lives theirs differently and it’s hard to please everyone with certain types of music. These are just a few of the main reasons that it’s unfair how rap music is being censored more than other types of …show more content…
If producers don’t get what they want, when they want, they will do anything in their right mind to destroy what they need to. For instance, recently this year, Tyga was sued by his producer. The reason he got sued for his song “Molly” was because he told his producer he would pay him upfront and in person and after the song was finished, but the producer didn’t receive anything, so he sued him. Maybe there was an understandable reason as to why he couldn’t pay when the producer wanted him to, but no one knows for sure except for Tyga. This is just giving him a bad reputation to the public even though we know

Songs like these shed a negative light on Black people, not all Hip Hop sends a negative connotation to others about Black people. They are used to communicate with other people and for the artist to express themselves through song. “Music is what feelings sounds like” (Georgia Gates). A complicated word isn't it, ‘censorship’. It comes from the Latin word ‘censere’ which means to give as one's opinion, something nonexistent in an Anthem society. Like many things, a world without censorship can be scary, but a world with too much of it, is a world with no meaning. Look at Anthem, the people who live in that society have no meaning, no life, no importance. Although many people can't imagine comparing the United States to an Anthem society, I believe the United States is an Anthem society because America has huge amounts of censorship when it comes to the press.…

The word censorship defines as blocking something from being heard, seen or read. I believe that there was a time that when censorship should be appropriate for the First Amendment. Although the First Amendment is about the free flow of information, ideas, and opinions that can be expressed in our society by responsible citizens, however, our government should be able to regulate the speech through the court consistently to determine if the government’s reason outweighs the importance of our democratic freedoms with ethical responsibilities. Censorship can also be an act of changing a message, including the change of deletion (complete removal of the message of the news or what was said), between the sender and the receiver. Censorship can be used for the good, by being ethically responsible.…
