Body cameras After reading “Should law enforcement agents wear body cameras”, it targets people that have experienced police brutality. Body cameras shows an officers’ point of view of how they react in difficult situations and carry out duties. Whether or not law enforcement carry out the law justly, body cameras will be used as evidence to understand both sides. This article lists main points on why officers should wear them and not wear them. How it works is the camera will be pinned on the chest of an officer and show the interaction in first person. Then, the video would be analyzed, judged right or wrong, and uploaded for the public to see, thus an officer could be reprimanded and put on probation for misconduct. However this will work, opponents argue that it will stop an officers work and cost an indescribable amount of money to store and analyze the footage. On the other hand, supporters think body cameras will reconnect public trust and work towards ruling out unjust officers (Police). The article focuses mainly on the point of, on the supporters’ view, the process of storing and analyzing footage is the big question. For example, when an officer’s body camera is turned on, and the officer comes at them or intimidates them while being recorded, could imply that the victim is in the wrong, as a result, and may be subjected to either fight back or argue with the officer, only escalating the interaction.
