The Pros And Cons Of Birth Order

Understanding birth-order could potentially help you to understand things about you and those around you. Research has been done that has concluded birth-order has an affect on one’s personality. Birth-order can’t explain everything about the behavior of an individual because of outside factors such as family member behavior, environment, and education, but it can tell you quite a bit. The classifications can be simplified into four categories; the first born, the middle child, the youngest, and the only child(which is me). Each classification has advantages and disadvantages. As first borns grow older, they tend to want to be the best at everything they do. That includes being the best dressed, having the best fantasy baseball team, be the best editor, and being the sexiest and smartest. They don't have to be competitive, but they tend to be perfectionist who want to be the best at what they do. Middle children tend to feel excluded in much of what they do, so they focus on pleasing people. Traits that usually make up this role is a people pleaser, someone who thrives on friendships, is a peace maker, has a large social circle, and can be somewhat rebellious (Voo). Middle children tend to please people and more relaxed souls, but also they do not like to be told what to do. They sometimes could be considered sassy and a button pusher, when it comes to asking for help. They like to make people happy and take care of them, but if pushed too far they could easily do something considered rebellious. This is because they feel like they are never in the spot light. Being in the shadow of the oldest and being forgotten due to the youngest needing attention, the middle children tend to misbehave the most
