Introduction
There are times when giving birth control to a teenage girl may be recommended by a gynecologist because of having problems with a heavy menstrual cycle, monthly cramps, or acne (Hayes, Ashley 2009). Some birth control are used for menstrual suppression, allowing you to have a period only four times a year, or even prevent your period from occurring for a full year. Making choices about birth control, or contraception, isn’t easy. There are many things to think about; (1) your overall health, (2) If you want to have children, (3) how well each method works to prevent pregnancy, (4) possible side effects of each method that is used to prevent pregnancy. Do we think teenagers will take time and think over these possibilities? The answer is “no”!
I had stated in my outline the good and bad effects of giving birth control to teenagers. The only reasonable answer I can comprehend in giving a teenager birth control is if a girl is having problems during her menstrual cycle, such as, a heavy menstrual cycle, monthly cramps, or acne problems. Even this is taking a chance because she can think it is alright to have sex and can cause unintended pregnancy, because no birth control is 100%
