Students that plan on attending college should decide whether they want to attend a four-year college or a two-year college. When starting college, students need to know what the advantages and disadvantages are between the two college years. After seeing what the differences and similarities, are they will have to choose carefully on which college year is best for them.
There are many differences and similarities between a four-year and a two-year college. Students have to deal with the choices they make between the two college years. They have to worry about the housing and where they are going to live at. Also, they have to see if the college that they are attending has the major that they are looking for. For example, there are Academic Programs that give students many classes to pick from and opportunities to explore ideas. Housing is also part of an advantage students get to live on campus and learn new things. Students taking a four-year college can get a university experience with the college they pick and get prepared for a job. They can get involved with school activities like homecoming, football games, and also experience with dorm living. Also, there are scholarship opportunities that are included which gives students a chance to get money and a free ride throughout college. “A four-year degree will open doors to a bright future for college students” (“The Pros and Cons of Attending College”). The article states that a four-year degree can get students somewhere and give them a brighter future. “A college education will help you meet these tougher job requirements” (Zambrano). The two most prominent disadvantages with a four-year college are affordability and size. For example, money is going to be a problem with a four-year college because it is more expensive than going to a two-year college. The population and size varies between what college a four-year student picks. Students have to worry about the tuition and fees that come with a four-years college.
