Virtues ethics are based off of people as individuals not as whole groups. It does not solve any questions in ethical crisis. For example, the government cannot base their decisions off of what they feel and think, they have to be able to make the best decision for a better outcome for a group of people. This would not follow ethic virtue because what would be correct in virtue ethics is not correct for the government. It also cannot be applied in all situations. For example, a person cannot be coward fighting in a war just because they are outnumbered. He has to have courage and keep going. The only problem with this is that you have to be both courageous and a coward, so how can you be both if your life and your troops life 's depend on you. Another reason, virtue ethics might fail is because your virtues might be different in comparison to other people. An example for this would be people who live in Israel. We can have ethical decisions by not judging people based off their traditions or religions. This might help keep society together. A person might argue that their moral code is better than another, but this would only destroy the peace between society. They need to be able to set the morals aside, with out any morals, every one would think their ideas are right and everyone else is wrong. With moral codes it is much easier to relate to some people. Virtue Ethics can simply help us because becoming a better person as individual and have a positive impact on our lives. Hopefully one person at time can make a large group of virtuous people, it is said this could not happen but with faith maybe someday it could happen.
