The Pros And Cons Of Animal Experiments

The European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE) is an organization that was formed in the 1990’s in an effort to end animal testing for the purpose of cosmetics. The ECEAE is the leading group in Europe which helps EU officials intersect laboratories. This article was written to expose the truth of what exactly goes on in animal testing laboratories and to explain that there are alternatives out there that will be of more benefit to society, both economically and physically. This article mentions that many scientists lie about the experiments that are being carried out on the poor animals in the laboratories and that most companies do have the budget for the alternatives, but they rather test on animals. The article appeals to pathos by providing images of unethical animal testing. Their target audience is the general public. The purpose of this article is to show that these animal testing are ineffective and that other alternative measures have proven to be more effective. The article goes into detail on how animal testing is being paid for and it does not provide concrete results at the end. The strength of this article is that it has examples on how tax-payers are wasting their money on something so expensive and some of those tests are not even effective once tested on humans. One of its weaknesses is that it mostly based on the ethical reasoning behind animal testing. This article is relevant to our project because it demonstrates how these testing are irrelevant as they do not relate to humans and money is being wasted on something that is not benefitting
