Should Animal Cloning Be Banned

Improved Essays
People keep wondering whether cloning should be evolved or completely banned. According to biology, cloning is the procedure of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals. Clones are organisms that are genetically duplicates of each other. Where each and every piece of their DNA is identical. Cloning is a very important topic which has many branches under it. For example natural cloning, molecular cloning, human cloning, animal cloning, organ cloning, and many other branches. In view of the fact that cloning is a wide huge subject lets be specific and talk about animal cloning that people have been arguing about for years and decades. Cloning is a highly argumentative practice that has taken a huge place in the animal world. There are benefits of course as well as potential drawbacks in animal cloning. After all, it should be practiced because it will provide us more animals to feed the humanity, will rescue a lot of animals from extinction, and will prove that it’s not unethical.

In reproductive cloning, scientists remove a mature somatic cell from the animal that they want to copy, such as a skin cell then they transfer the DNA of the donor animal's somatic cell into an egg cell that has had its own

Cloning is likewise awful that then you have a cloned pet you could manhandle them, execute them, and after that get another simply like them. It's very horrible. So that is the reason cloning ought not to be used by researchers. Anyhow Cloning doesn't hurt the creature by any means, and has no negative impact on them. No instance of cloning damages the cloned subject. The main conceivable damage could be on the clone; however, that harm is not a consequence of the cloning itself, that is a result of abuse of the clone. There is nothing wrong with cloning! Researches could be made that will change our lives forever to a whole new

In the article “Ethical Issues of Cloning” by Rita Putatunda explains about the problems of cloning. Copying the genes and making new reproductions of the human is equivalent to “playing God”. The successful cloning of Dolly (Sheep) in 1997 brings many tension upon society and furthers the possibility of human cloning. However, there is a high failure rate of cloning and it may alter the genes of the cloned animal/human. Putatunda questions that the cloning outcome might act as a unique individual or have to live like a genetic prisoner.…

In science, cloning is defined as the processes used to create copies of fragments of DNA, cells or organisms. Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of a human. A clone is an organism that has generally identical genetic composition to another organism. Cloning could happen artificially, which is done in a lab or naturally, which is the case in identical twins. Cloning is broken down into three different types: gene cloning, reproductive cloning and therapeutic cloning.…

Why Cloning is Bad You are a scientist and you find out that the animal you cloned had defects in its body. Advances in science like cloning are bad because if one animal’s DNA has an error, it could give the other animal a defect as well. One reason I think cloning is bad is because clones could develop cancer.…

Currently the creation of cloning remains a debatable and moral disruption issued as unethical to the human race. Cloning takes away the uniqueness of species in the way that two or more people now share the same of everything especially genes which are supposed to be different from person to person. As science becomes more and more advanced, it seems to be taking humanity into science’s control. The issue of…

Simon Smith stated, “Theories exist about how cloning may lead to a cure for heart attacks, a revolution in cosmetic surgery, organs for organ transplantation, and predictions abound about how cloning technology will save thousands of lives.” Therapeutic cloning will bring medical breakthroughs that we’ve never had before. Many adults aren’t able to have children and cloning will give them another option of having their own child. Also, cloning will be able to save animals from extinction and possibly bring back animals that are extinct.…

In the article Bringing Them Back to Life by Carl Zimmer, scientists are debating on whether they should bring back extinct animals or not. Some say that it would be cool to actually “de-extinct” an animal, but is it really worth the time and money to do so? Cloning can involve several different processes such as injecting nuclei into other animal cells, restructuring genomes and reprogramming cells. Bringing back or cloning animals from the past would be great scientific achievement but then again the past is the past and should maybe left that way. There is great debate of de-extinction; the pros of scientific advancement and preservation or the cons of playing God and wasting money.…

Another reason cloning should not be allowed is because the cloning process could cause severe pain and suffering to humans and animals. Cloning is a dangerous, and agonizing process. Despite years of endless research, approximately 95% of cloning attempts fail, leading to many unnecessary deaths in humans and animals. Even the clone could receive severe problems such as physiological impairments, severe birth defects, and an abrupt death. If cloning is practiced largely, many test subjects will die,…

Therefore cloning will need strict regulation. The best way to do that is to form a worldwide organization with delegates from each country, each experts in biology and having vast knowledge of cloning, despite the extreme difficulties accomplishing this task. However this is the only logical solution. We could lose too much if we ban cloning.…

There are three different type of cloning: gene cloning, therapeutic cloning, and reproductive cloning (NHGRI, 2015). The type of cloning that gets the attention from the movie industry, and this paper, is reproductive cloning. Reproductive cloning is the process in which a whole organism is copied. This is achieved by removing a mature somatic cell from the organism that is to be copied, and transferring that cell’s DNA into an enucleated egg of the same species. After the egg has matured to an early embryonic phase in vitro, it is implanted into an adult female to grow and develop.…

So, cloning should not be allowed because because people are still very conflicted on the subject, also the cost of cloning is too extreme and, it would lack in DNA diversity. First of all, cloning is still very new to the world. Although cloning has been around since Dolly the Sheep, the whole world is still conflicted on the subject. Some feel that the cloning of embryos, is morally repugnant and may feel that the idea of cloning humans is “playing God” according to “What are the Pros and Cons of Cloning?” So, if too many people are conflicted based on a moral stance, it will create too much turmoil in the science community.…
