The problem lies when parents, professors and teachers do not realize the kind of pressure they are putting these students under. There are many solutions to this problem. Understanding and being there for the students can play a huge role in their lives and is quite frankly the most influential solution, to say the least. Although it might not seem like much, it can make a huge impact on someone’s life. According to drugabuse.com you should approach your loved one with care because often times addicts are angered easily and could potentially have a violent reaction. So therefore you should approach and handle the situation mindfully but with complete intensions on being completely successful. It may seem difficult to overcome, but addiction definitely has a cure. Being there is step one of getting these students to stray away from drug usage. While being there is an astounding solution, it would also help if we were to create peer-counseling groups here on campus. There are thousands of students just on the University of Alabama’s campus alone who are struggling with addiction that do not even realize that someone else is in their shoes as well – but they just overcame it. If there were some way to make that known that there are students out there who are ready and willing to coach another peer through the proper steps of transcending addiction then I really feel as though there would be a very favorable amount of people who surrender to their addiction.
