According to Duhaime’s Law Dictionary, the legal definition of death is “irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions and of all functions of the entire brain, including the brainstem.” Furthermore, abortion is “a medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary). Sadly, there are those who believe that abortion is a woman’s right to her body and that she may do whatever she wants with her body. However, abortion still ends the life of another human being through the following abortion methods: Suction Aspiration, Suction Curettage, Salt Poisoning, Prostaglandin Chemical Abortion, DIY Abortion, and Dilation and Extraction, which may cause health issues to the woman’s body and is the reason why abortions need to stop.

The first method of abortion is Suction Aspiration. This method of abortion is “common in the first trimester” of the women’s pregnancy (Downs).

According to Dr. Maureen Condic, the unborn child can react to pain “as early as 8-10 weeks” after conception (Ertelt). Thus proving that the fetus can feel pain at an even earlier stage of pregnancy. In continue, during an abortion a clinic employee “heard a baby scream” during a live-birth abortion (Ertelt). This evidence proves that the child does react to pain during the abortion no matter how much abortionists claim that they do not. Furthermore, a woman who assisted an abortionist on aborting a child saw that the baby was still “alive and crying” which shows that the child was still alive (Terzo). Therefore, it does not matter whether the abortionist killed the child in the process or if the child survived, the baby still feels

Not only will the fetus feel pain after a first trimester abortion, but at 25 weeks the fetus is considered viable (Candisky, 2015). When a fetus is considered feasible it is said to say that when the child is born there is a high percentage of the infant being able to survive (Candisky, 2015). This shows that late-term abortion is considered wrong, under them having the right to life, because you shouldn’t be able to abort an unborn child with such a high percentage of them…

If a baby can flinch, jerk or recoil from sharp objects and incisions, surely they would feel each of their limbs being ripped from their body. Numerous women would not agree with the above arguments. They feel that women should have control over their own body and be able to make the decision of aborting their baby or not. The counter argument to that belief system is that a baby is in the women’s body but not part of the women’s body. “…The baby has its own DNA, its own genetic code, its own blood type, its own functioning brain, its own functioning kidneys, its own functioning lung, its own dreams, its not the woman’s body, it’s in the woman’s body” (Chandler,…

Motherhood should never be a punishment. Abortion is a fundamental right and should stay legal in all places for all people. A common misconception about abortion is that the child is able to feel being aborted and that it hurts the fetus. But what people do not know is that the child is actually not able to feel pain until around the twentieth week of gestation. Studies show that less than two percent of abortions occur after twenty weeks.…

If a fetus is removed from the womb, it is cut off from all nutrition or energy that it receives from its mother. Without nutrition, it can no longer thrive, grow, or develop on its own and the only response to any stimuli presented is death. Most abortions save women from gruesome psychological effects due to rape or incest. Forcing a woman to carry and give birth to a child without her consent is bound to cause more psychological harm than the abortion itself (“10 Arguments: For and Against Abortion”). In most fetus fatal abnormalities such as a missing limb can be detected which can result in death shortly before or after the baby is born.…

A fetus should be able to experience the world like other humans. They should have the same rights as any other human being and should be born. Besides having their life ended, children go through a lot of pain during an abortion. In her article, “Previability Abortion and the Pain of the Unborn,” Teresa Collett, a Law Professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, effectively explains that a fetus feels pain during an abortion. Since the 20th century, there has been debates to whether they can experience pain during abortion.…

No, it is still murder. Next, fetuses can indeed feel pain in the first trimester. Bernard N. Nathanson, MD, stated that when an abortion is performed on a twelve-week old fetus, an ultrasound showed that the fetus opens their mouth, much like a silent scream during the procedure. Pain comes from the spinal reflex, not just the cortex of the brain. Next, women who go through abortions actually are more prone to suffering from depression.…

They argue that abortion protects the life and choices of mothers but offers zero protection for the children. The abortion law does not provide a specific time frame that abortion can occur. It has been found that after roughly “20 weeks of gestation” the fetus is fully formed and capable of feeling pain (Zagorski). Therefore the question of whether it is morally correct to inflict pain on a fully formed human comes into play It is possible for women to abuse the abortion law by continually choosing to become impregnated and receive multiple abortions rather than using other forms of birth control that are available to them at little or no cost.…
