The Pros And Cons Of Abortion

Abortion. Now this is topic of heavy debate especially considering I am a woman. Before we get into that lets do some defining. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus (Merriam-Webster). There are various ways that this is done in 2015 but that isn’t the question. The question here is to discuss the pro-life and pro-choice sides of abortion. Being pro-life regarding abortion means that you are not only against it but you believe that life is too important to let die off. Pro-choice is the opposite. This is where you believe it is the woman’s body and therefore her choice what happens to it. Pro-choice people present valid arguments when they go against …show more content…
This basically means that life begins once sperm fertilizes egg. That theory is more of a religious backing than anything else or more of an opinion. Scientific fact doesn’t back this argument. That goes hand and hand with abortion being murder. It cannot be murder if it isn’t fact that life begins at conception. In the name of the law when the baby takes its first breathe it is considered to have human rights (Keefer, basics of law). That being said it is hard to sit here and apply logic to someone saying life starts anytime sooner than that. Granted I fully understand that a fetus has a developed brain within the womb. No one can detest that because it is proven fact. Another big argument is Abortion should not be legal and must be stopped (Pro-Choice Action network). This is something that pro-lifers say but it isn’t valid because Abortion isn’t illegal and hasn’t been illegal since Roe V. Wade 1973 (Landmark Cases). The main premise here is that pro-lifers base a lot of their ideas off of opinion and how they think things should be which is fine, most people do. Pro-choice people still use opinion but it just so happens that their opinions are backed up with more fact that

Pro life versus pro choice has been on of the most debated topics around the world by Christians and non Christians alike. People who have a Christian or pro life worldview take a stance against abortion due to their moral and religious judgments that acknowledge the life and importance of the unborn. Unlike those who are pro life, those who support pro choice believe that an unborn fetus is nothing but cells and that if a woman chooses to terminate her pregnancy than it is moral and she should have the full right to end the pregnancy. . While many believe that the lives of the unborn can be terminated due to financial, health, and family issues, pro life supporters believe that God created each unborn child for a reason and it is immoral for their life to be taken away. Although many people who support pro life might not share a Biblical worldview many base their pro life belief on religious authority and the word of God and the sanctity of the lives that He has created.…

People that are pro-choice believe that abortion should be kept legal because women have the right to make the choice. Since at the time of abortion, the fetus isn’t technically a baby, the pro-life views seem unreasonable to pro-choice supporters. There is a reason that the abortions are only allowed to happen within the first 24 weeks; the ‘fetus’, which is still a clump of cells at that point, can’t survive on its own outside the…
