Why Is Abortion Morally Wrong?

Improved Essays
Abortion is used by several different individuals such as teenagers, rape victims, or even mothers in financial problems, but not matter the person should it be legal and do we give them an easy way out with Planned Parenthood? It’s easy to look at the mother’s side of the argument in this debate, but who is considering the baby’s side? If a person is more informed on this topic it would help them better understand the controversy, and know the reasoning behind both points of views. The best comparisoin to abortion that I have read was in “Abortion, Opposing Viewpoint,” and it said “Just as the Jewsih Holocaust in Nazi Germany was legal but morally wrong, abortions are legal but not moral. Several individuals compared abortion to a modern …show more content…
The reason behind this is the Roe vs Wade case where Norma McCorvey, an unmarried pregnant women, sought an abortion but was denied it under Texas law. She claimed it violated her constitutional right to privacy. As stated in “Abortion, Opposing viewpoints,” even 35 plus years after this case, the procedure remains a hotly debated moral, religious, political, and social issue. There is always two sides to every story, and in this situation they are Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Pro-Choice means you support the legalizing of abortion. On the flip side you have those who are Pro-Life, meaning they oppose abortion and euthanasia. As discussed in “The Abortion Debate,” Pro-Life activists suggest that women with unwanted pregnacies should put the baby up for adoption, whereas Pro-Choice groups counter that this may work for some women but not all. Then there are those individuals who find themselves in the middle and don’t see abortion as murder, but are not comfortable with the destruction of a …show more content…
The first type of female that comes to mind when talking about abortion is teenagers. Teenagers are often thought of as unresponsible so that might explain how they could have an unplanned pregnancy or even failed contraception, but aren’t adults supposed to be responsible? Althought it is the teen that got prgnant, if the parents had better educated or instructed the teen could it have been prevented? In some cases this would not have made a difference, but do you see how easy it is to blame someone else for your own mistakes. The pregnant girl shouldnt have had sex and this wouldnt have happened and the parents shold have been more strict, but to what fault is the fetus? The baby is not at fault and therfore it should not be the one to have to pay for the consequences. Meanwhile teenagers are not those only women getting abortions but there is also rape victims. Rape is very serious and shameful for the victims who tend to carry it with them for the rest of their lives. Unfortanley in some cases the women becomes pregnant from her attacker and can choose to look at it one of two ways. Some believe abortion can remove the painful evidence of that rape. But will it? The victim may see that it is not the fault of the baby and choose to keep the child. However, she could also see the child as a constant reminder as to what happened to her and see the child as

We as people don 't understand what that baby feels or how anyone feels due abortion. We could change that though if we make abortion illegal then no one has to go through the pain of making a hard decision and killing their baby because they can 't take care of them or don 't want to burden themselves. We have other options. If abortion was illegal it would stop protest and increase population. Abortion needs to come illegal because it would help just more than the women not having so many medical problems it could help people that want kids and can 't have them.…

Though not every place allows an abortion many of the women who fought to have abortions still are looked as a role model to those woman who are not ready for motherhood. A woman can decide whether she wants to have a child or not, but the cost of a child here in the United States it is quite difficult, though there is government support. I think they shouldn’t get rid of the law that girls can get an abortion because girls do get rapped and end up pregnant and of course they don 't want that child. It 's a bad memory for them why would they want to keep a nightmare for the rest of their life. I would not want to have that child myself. Another situation would be if you get pregnant you could die if you had the baby. Yes i think women should use some source of birth control, but not all birth control things work.…

The key dispute of “pro-choice advocates,” is that women ought to have the right to choose what happens to their own bodies. The pro-choice view is that abortion is a way of ending an unwanted pregnancy if the mother so chooses. Conversely, apart from the clear question of whether it is a woman’s right to choose, pro-choice backers also like to mention the idea of a dangerous birth. Suggesting that there are cases where giving birth could injure or even kill the mother, some be compelled to suggest an abortion. In such cases pro-choice supporters may feel that abortion is the answer.…

Many get abortions because the child would only bring bad memories in the nine months ahead or the mother won’t love the child. When it comes to this many people agree that abortion is wanted and best for sexual assault victims. But many people who have been raped are pressured or strongly directed by family members or healthcare to have an abortion. The problem won’t be fix with the baby being terminated, instead it would being more acts of violence and will only make problems worse. Still many women have accepted the child because the child has not done nothing wrong therefore, they don’t have abortions instead they will have and raise the child.…

Just like pulling the trigger of a gun you are not first-hand killing a person, but you are making the choice that ends in a person's death or harm.If you are okay with abortion you are okay with all murder. Another argument is that even if you don't want this child some other family could adopt this child and make the family complete. This abbey has right to happiness even if with another family. Abortion is not the answer, there is adoption. My last objection towards Thomson is that it is the woman's fault that they are pregnant they need to accept the consequences.Even with contraception, there is a small chance that you accept.…

Wade there is another very important piece to the puzzle. Another reason why abortion as outlined by Roe. Vs. Wade should remain legal, is for medical purposes. Before explaining as to why abortion due to medical reasons is a very good idea, one must sometimes first consider opposing views. Those opposed to abortion claim that abortions should be illegal because of the possible abuse, physical and psychological danger it poses to females.…

A wide array of opinions exist on the taboo subject but most can be molded into two groups: Pro-Life and Pro-Choice. Pro-Life if the title given to those who believe that a fetus is a human being from the moment of conception and should be granted to the same rights as any other human. Those who oppose abortion, and favor the life of the child, regard the procedure as murder. On the opposite end of the debate are those who support a women’s right to decide if she wants to continue on with the pregnancy, Pro-Choice. Many who support the Pro-Choice argument believe that it is a woman’s body who supports the embryo, fetus, and finally the child and it should be her choice to go through with the pregnancy.…

There are few things in this world that will strike more fear into the heart of a woman—or a man, for that matter—than an unplanned pregnancy. Now the woman faces a choice: does she carry the fetus to term, or does she terminate the pregnancy? There are countless reasons for both options, such as the mother’s health, the health of the fetus, religious views, and how the mother was brought up. There are some instances in which a mother could feel that she could not rely on her family for support, such as cases of rape and incest. In this paper, I will take a categorical approach to show you how abortion can be ethical.…
