Future Career Research Paper

In the 21st century it is important to have a good career. It is important to start looking from young age. In my research, I have found five careers that have the potential to become one of my future jobs. The five careers I have chosen are becoming a teacher, a guidance counselor, a career counselor, becoming a psychologist or lastly becoming a pharmacist. A teacher is a person who teaches. Their responsibilities are to always have lesson plans prepared. Followed by teaching classes and evaluating their students progress. It is also very important to maintain discipline in the classroom. The teacher must have unlimited energy and knowledge about the subject they are teaching. A guidance counselor beginning salary is about $31,850. An average salary is about $53,600. The highest amount you can go up too is $86,870. Becoming a guidance counselor comes with many similar benefits like teachers such as, vacation time, life insurance, and it is possible to change someone’s life.
An opportunity in advancement can be working in a higher grade school, such as high school. High schools typically earn more, as do counselors with a master’s degree or higher. An advanced degree can make the annual salary grow by $10,000. In ten years, guidance counselors can expect maybe cost of living salary adjustments. They will continue in the same role as before in helping troubled teens.
A career very similar as a guidance counselor is a career counselor. A career counselor helps people find their interest, style, and ability to find and enter a career that best fits them. They are helpful to people who need to choose a career or are unhappy with the one they are currently in. Their responsibilities are to explore the history and behavior of the client and help them understand their motivations. Their responsible for knowing what skill is needed in a big amount of professions. Also they need to coach the clients in researching the fields that match their interest. A psychologist does research and performing examinations, psychologists study all aspects of the mind. They talk to people and make their mental health more positive and personal growth. Some psychologist prevent, diagnose and treat mental disorders. They all give advice on leadership, group behavior and attitude control. Psychologist work in a private practice while teaching or conducting research. To become a psychologist you need two to four years in undergraduate degree in psychology followed by a graduate degree. Also some jobs require master’s or doctorate. You can get these degrees in college. It will take four to eight years depending on the advancement. The starting salary is about 68,640. The average salary is about 72,710. The highest salary you can reach is $88,400 and that is with your doctorate. Becoming a psychologist comes with numerous amounts of benefits such as, life insurance, opening your own business and having flexible hours. To get a higher advancement you can get a PhD which will let you work in the widest range of positions.
