A pessimist person would be very upset and let that one test ruin their whole day and would have thoughts such as “I’m a failure” or “I can’t do this”. The difference between them is how they encounter things. Many people feel like when bad things happen that their whole day has to be a bad day. One of the quotes that was mentioned in the video was “The most important thing about me is how I talk to myself”. So instead of speaking with negativity people should say positive things and proceed with their day not being upset. One statistic that Bruce Christopher told his audience was that people spend 5 year worrying. Imagine the most of the population spending 5 years worrying about something for 5 years. Some would say a worry is something that will fade off later but really its a problem for some Americans now and days. The Projection Principle talks about how attitude predicts success. The better your attitude the better your success will be. This is accurate because the better a person’s attitude is the better they could be in many tasks. The Projection Principle also states that attitude is contagious. If a person is frowning and upset then that kind of mood can bring others down whereas a person has a beaming smile and is in a good mood then most likely others will be in a good mood as well. The last thing The Projection Principle states is that a person should have goals, and expectations. This is true a person should have something to aim for but not have their hopes way up high that it’s going to happen because things happens and not everything goes someones way. A person should start off with a small goal and if that works then set bigger goals but never should a person their hopes up that something will happen like they desire. The Mix Match Effect is similar to The Projection Principle. The Mix Match Effect states “Lower your Expectations, Increase your performance”. An example for this is let’s say a person likes to sing and think they are pretty good and they want to try out for The Voice.
