The Professional, a film directed by Luc Besson, is about a cold-hearted and unsympathetic professional assassin named Leon. He kills for a living, and has been successfully executing targets for a very long time. However, when he isn’t taking down targets, he stays in a compact apartment in solitude doing his daily routine which includes cleaning, watering his plant that he cares a lot about, and sleeping on a chair with one eye open. The movie not show much about Leon’s past life but he is an introvert and there is a shortfall when it comes to having relationships and connections with other people. The way Leon’s character develops throughout the movie persuades us that there is always good in people, regardless to how brutal, ruthless, and insensitive they can be. …show more content…
This opening scene showcases his fully developed skills an assassin. The director also shoves the first impression of him right in our face in this scene which is serious, professional, hardcore, and merciless. However, there is a small part of him that longs for some time to enjoy life and just escape from all the killing. In the scene where Leon finally decides to go out and watch a movie, we see that he isn’t always the serious hitman type. Leon watches Gene Kelly singing and dancing in the movie Singin’ in the Rain.
