Certain groups argue that demedicalization is on the rise, as the power that medical systems once had over society is slowly slipping away (Clarke, 2016, pg. 248). It is my personal belief, that medicalization is still prominent within contemporary Canadian society, as the medical system still has profound impact and power in the lives of individuals, and aspects of human life are increasingly requiring medical intervention.
