Vulcanizing mold
To form a tread on green tire, a mold must mold and melt the rubber. The inside circumference of the circular tread face part of the mold that will be in contact where the tread of the green tire will be is a negative shape of the tread to be on that green tire to be shaped.
The outside of the circular tread face is in contact with the pre-heating or curing molds inside circumference. The tread shapes on the tire is formed by ribs and/or lugs on the inside of the circular tread face. The circular tread face has holes to let the gasses produced by the tire out. An inner support formed in a circle is added to both beads. A finished green tire is formed when the carcass meets the tread rubber ring. A tread rubber ring is in the inside circumference of the circular tread face. The circular tread face is the first part of the mold and the inner supports are the second part of the mold. The two inner supports are connect to the circular tread face. The two are connected by clamps between the inner support and the circular tread face. The tire is cured and heated inside those two parts. The clamp stay there from installing tread rubber ring up until the Colling process. These two parts support the tire. The two parts form part of a donut casing and is in part the tire mold. The clamps are beside the sidewalls and between the inner support and circular tread face. The clamp are removable from both inner support and circular tread face. The clamps hold the outside of the sidewall from the inner support to the circular tread face. After the curing process, the circular tread face and first clamps are removed from the tire. The pre-heating mold starts the heating process of the finished green tire. The start-up heat in the pre-heat mold heats up the bead and the tread part of the tire only. The curing mold cures the rubber of the tire. The curing mold is connect to a curing unit. The curing unit controls the process of the curing at the mold it attached to. The tire is removed from the circular tread face before the cooling mold. The cooling mold cools the bead part of the tire. There is a circular heater selected to be put on the outside circumference of the circular thread face depending on the size of that circular thread face. There is a circular heater selected to be put on the inside of bead of the tire depending on the size of the bead. These heater start the warm up process of the tire being molded. As the tire and circular tread face separate they are both supported by a ring shaped support. This ring shaped support also supports the tire in the cooling mold.
