Effects Of World Hunger

Ending World Hunger When we are ready to eat and hear the echoing sound of our bellies screaming to be fed we tend to use the phrase, “I am starving.” What we fail to take into mind is the true meaning of what it means to starve. When hunger crosses our day we have it simple because all we have to do is walk to the refrigerator and grab food to fulfill our hunger. Unfortunately, that is not a reality for a multitude of people across the world. Many live with the hardship of actually experiencing what it means to starve and not having the privilege of a refrigerator stuffed with food sitting a few feet away. World hunger is a significant problem in our world that must end because it is a conflict that can be resolved with all the excess of food that remains in countries across the world. The problem of world hunger lies in many countries around the world and even in our very own backyard. The problem is that there are many people that wake up and go to sleep with a stomach that is not fed for days at a time. They then run the risk of death as a result of starvation. One of the biggest factors is food wastage. One-third of food produced is never consumed and therefor thrown out. It just seems inappropriate to throw out food when there are 1 in 8 people in the world suffering from starvation. Another problem that comes as a result of food wastage is the fact that there are precious natural resources being put to no good use and leaving yet another humongous hole for people to fall into. The problem does not come as a result of there not being enough food to feed all the humans in the world, the problem is that instead of using the excess of food to feed the hungry we decide to throw it out and put it to no good
