The first conjecture is that people learn to acclimate themselves into a certain system of values and ethics, meaning all the people conform to certain values in which they are around (Bernard, Snipes, & Gerould, 2009). The second assumption is that society is too inconsistent in their goals and what his or her means to reach these goals (Bernard, Snipes, & Gerould, 2009). Finally, the last conjecture is the cultural goals and how they are distributed by his or her means to achieve these said goals (Bernard, Snipes, & Gerould, 2009). Strain Theory is made up of a list of things that go hand in hand with each other then turn into a behavior. First, you have social structure which goes with the goals of that certain culture. Once goals and social structure has been established, then anomie or the breakdown or ethical standards of that group will begin to occur within that said cultural group. The future of the Strain Theory seems bright because it explains the actions of people that do certain things in accordance with the way certain groups or people live their lives. Unfortunately, as long as there are human beings on this earth, there will also be a crime that comes along with humankind. This theory helps explain why a new offender or a recidivating offender commits a crime. There is no excuse for committing a crime, but this theory clarifies why human beings commit such actions. Certain controversial topics such as gun control, different life choices, or education importance views have changed how society handles these topics. Many different aspects affect why someone may commit a crime. Living conditions, lack of food, or the lack of being able to provide can assist someone in thoughts of committing a crime.
