Running away actually increases the risk of delinquency and victimization. Also, findings have been found to represent that running away can be predicted from children who experience physical and psychological abuse (Kim et al.) For youths who dream of a future, running away could crush those dreams. Running away could cause a youth to fall behind/ do poorly, miss, and/or dropout of school (Mehta). Youths who have run away, or are even homeless, are likely to suffer from depression (Springer). There are so many different reasons that a youth might run away, but every run away is literally running away from something in their life whether it be loneliness, rejection, abuse, or any other struggle (Mehta) .
