Juvenile Delinquency is a very big problem today and I believe that not enough is being done to curb juvenile crime. There needs to be stronger penalties for crimes they are committing. There needs to be programs set in place to deal with Juvenile emotional problems before the kids resort to criminal activity. There needs to more activities within communities so the children don’t resort to criminal activity as a form of recreation. I think there needs to be some mentoring programs set up so difficult kids have good quality role models to look up to. Many times the kids have families who have drug issues or are also involved in criminal activity and they have no one to look up to. There needs to be after school programs set in

I think prevention would be a better way of spending the money. One way of preventing juvenile crimes is by parents staying involved in their children’s lives. Spending an adequate time catching up and talking with the juveniles is one way to know what is going on with their lives and keep track of what they are doing and who they are associating with. I think we should try and remedy these issues before they become severe problems. I believe as a society we will be paying one way or another. If we pay for education programs and treatment for those who need it, then we may help the situation before these juveniles become adults and we then will have to pay for them to be incarcerated in prisons for many years. I believe the costs of juvenile programs will be much less than the cost we will all pay once they are adults and living in the prison system. I believe the ways to keep juveniles from committing these crimes include having more adult involvement within their daily lives.
