Over 30000 people die a year that is too much many families are affected by it. Home invaders may be armed and others should be too. Foreign invaders may be armed heavily so a semi-automatic firearm is good to have. Carrying a handgun with a permit can prevent a mass shooting. If guns were banned and someone did have a gun it would be a threat to others since the innocent have no guns for self-defense (Pros and Cons 3).
