Ways To Reduce Crime In The United States

Crime is increasing every day, everywhere and most definitely increasing in communities. Crime is a major problem in the United States, people are dying from crime, people from younger generations are committing crimes, and law enforcement officers are getting hurt while protecting our communities. There are hundreds of crimes committed a day, which means there are hundreds of victims of crimes a day, but there are many of ways to reduce that number. Imagine if there was a way to reduce the number of homicides, burglaries, forcible rapes, and in all the amount of crime all together. One of the ways is by using social media to enhance policing. Almost everyone uses social media, just about every day, some of us using it more than others. On average the amount of crime, people see in the United States can go up and down from month to month, but over the years, we have seen a massive increase in the crime rate. The amount of crime that an area can see depends on where someone lives. For example, cities have a higher crime rate than rural areas. In New York City one of the most major cities in the United States the crime rates keep on rising. From 2005 to 2006 there was a 6.7% increase in people getting arrested for robbery and nearly 90% of them were men. According to the FBI’s uniform crime reports the crime from 2005 to 2006 rose about 2.3% nationally and New York’s murder rate increased only slightly. In New York City there has also been 127 more incidents of person on person assaults, a 39.1% increase from the previous year.
