The privileged group benefits from the oppression of other groups regardless if it is unintentional. The privileged have an interest in such oppression to continue; they typically do not see themselves as factors of oppression. Privileged groups benefit from the wide array of injustices certain groups endure as a consequence of common unconscious assumptions and reactions of people with good intentions under normal circumstances.
