At this moment, Deli Twist does not have social events put in place for the staff so they can mingle and build trust between each other. Trust between employees and the employer are crucial to the operation and success of the business. This is due to the workers possible becoming distracted so their productivity can decrease. This can, in the future, affect the units produced so fewer sales of pretzels for instance can take place. Consequently, the profit of Deli Twist will be affected because, the fewer the sales they make, the lower the revenue they raise to cover costs or even to invest.
However, having social events in place does not meet that all of the staff will attend; therefore, the encouragement from the owner is crucial to the attendance of all. Although the social events such as watching a movie at the cinema is not too expensive, it may not be in the owner’s favour at the same time to pay to go on an outing with all of his employees every week or two. As a result, the owner could look to arrange a time every month perhaps, but this affects the effectiveness of the method of motivating the employees at Deli
