From the moment that Donald Trump announced that he was running for president of the United States it seems like every news source has forgotten what it means to be objective. The main principles of objectivity are presenting a story in a fair and impartial way using only facts not editorial opinions or interoperation. (Turow, 2014) The principles of objectivity are a necessity when covering hard news, I don’t believe that you can consider a news source reliable if they don’t practice objectivity. It is not a journalist’s job to tell the public how to think rather, it’s their job to present the information to the public so the public can make their own choices.
