The Australopithecus Afarensis was discovered to be ape like where its upper body had curved features which adapted it for climbing. Moreover, it was also full erect hominid as indicated by the position of its hips, pelvic, lower limb bones and knees.
The Africanus had the cranial capacity of 450cc weighing on average 50 pounds with a height of about 3.5 to 4,7 feet tall. The Africanus represented by the Taung baby found in South Africa was heavy jawed with cranial capacities ranging from 300 to 500cc.The complete pelvic bone suggest it had an upright posture as well.
