Theodore Roosevelt On The Price Of Maturity.

The Price of maturity Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at the work worth doing.” Roosevelt’s quote affected me by realizing that working at a potato factory was not the best work. The price of dangerous manual labor, salary inequality, and lack of professionalism from management was not worth my dedication. These factors motivated me to mature as an adult and pursue an education that is hard work worth doing. To begin with, I was hired on by a local potato factory on January of 2015. Management includes, foremen and L60’s. An L60 is a line operator. They are in charge of all production and people. My L60, was in charge of a carton line that makes microwavable products. The company’s quality assurance quotas indicated that, the carton line minimum production is 3,000 cartons for each eight hour shift. If the carton line meets its maximum production of 5,000 carton per shift, management is awarded a quarterly bonus. Due to the benefits that production can grant, management is in a lot of pressure and tend to forget social values and ethics. “Hurry up we are losing cartons! You are a dumb ass, you annoy me, move your hands faster, or I will increase the speed of the line.” This are the nicest examples of my L60’s phrase preference not including her despicable vulgarity that she would use to communicate to her team. Personally, I disliked her very much. My L60 would forget that, the factory runs on the quality and work performance of each employee beginning from processing to the finish product in packaging. Respect assures that employees are content and want to work to their full potential. Without the peoples hard work, quotas cannot be met or
