The President’s Ugly Pants
About ten years ago, the United States had a president named James Jameson. James might have been the most poorly dressed president the United States has EVER had. While Jameson was president, Washington D.C. was as happy as it had ever been. One day, unlike any other, the president received an unexpected package in the mail.

The president of the United States walked up the stairs of the white house, and noticed a small brown package sitting at the top.
Hmmm, the president thought to himself.
He called for a guard to come examine the package for him. “Guard,” the president began as the guard approached, “How did this package get here?” “I’m not sure,” replied the guard, “But it must be safe if it’s here.” “Alright,

Come see these plaid pants!”
As the president’s wife enters the room, you can see her face get distorted. “Well, what do you think?” asked the president. His wife replied slowly, “I think... they are wonderful.” “So do I, but I think I need another opinion,” he said happily. “Good idea!” she mumbles, as she thinks to herself, Now I won’t have to tell him they are ugly!
The president calls his entire cabinet over for dinner that night. Before he begins preparing dinner, he makes sure to change out of his new pants, as to keep them from getting anything on them. The president and his wife prepare a large dinner for their guests. Before his cabinet members arrive, he quickly changes back into his new pants. “I am so glad you could make it, Larry!” the president says, addressing the first of his guests. “I am surprised I could make it,” Larry said hesitatingly as he notices the president’s attire, “Because you called on such short notice.” “Come! Take off your coat and shoes and have a seat! It is almost time for dinner,” the president instructed.
Larry sits down at the table, and is joined by the rest of the president’s cabinet. The table starts to buzz with excitement. All eyes turn to the president as he takes his seat at the head of the

She replied, “Yes, of course sweetie! They do look nice.” “That is such a relief,” he continued, “I was starting to think my cabinet only liked them because I did. But I know you wouldn’t lie to me. So, tomorrow I will wear them to the Thanksgiving parade.”
They go to bed, and in the morning the president is almost ready to leave. “Are you ready to go, honey?” he calls down the hall. “Almost!” his wife calls back.
Five minutes later, they walk out the door arm-in-arm. Mr. Jameson wearing his new pants, and Mrs. Jameson wearing a hooded sweatshirt with her hood pulled up. In the car on the way to the parade, James questions his wife’s clothing. “Why are you dressed like that?” the President noted. “I was just so cold this morning that I couldn’t bear to put on a skirt or a dress,” she lied. “Oh. That is okay I guess,” muttered the president.
They arrive at the parade, with about a half hour to spare. They are walking up to the president’s podium where he will deliver his annual thanksgiving speech. Heads turn as they walk by. Wow! I didn’t know these pants were that cool, James thinks to himself.
James approached the podium with his head held high and a swagger in his step. He begins his

In 1796, one of the founding fathers and the first president George Washington was bringing to a close, his 2nd term in the presidency. The letter composed, which we now refer to as “Washington’s Farewell Address” would be not only widely circulated, but cherished for years to come. In this paper my intent is to not only provide a personal analysis, but to highlight the subject areas which are relevant even today and therefore prove significant.…

My fellow citizens: With every inauguration in this country we fortify the seedling of our country: the decrepit two centuries old constitution. All standing before me, we are American even though some weren't born upon American soil, but rather united on the belief that we choose to hold in an archive written centuries ago by the brilliant authors that came before us. Although these words may be documented on paper, they alone are worthless. It is our job in government to execute these duties- by the people, for the people. Since 1789 every American President who has given this address has had a common goal of economic prosperity; in conclusion, the time has come where we continue the pursuit of economic prosperity.…
